Continuing rumors of the upcoming iPhone, which may not be called iPhone 8, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has new information to share. He is an analyst at KGI Securities and generally pretty well knows where the next Apple products will go, based on assumptions of what he hears and inquires about Apple’s supply lines.
He continues to assume that the screen of the next iPhone would have almost no frame, the Mi Mix and the rest of high-end phones that would arrive in the coming months, and would be OLED for the 5.5-inch model. In this case, the overall size of the phone, although it would increase the screen size, would remain around the current model of 4.7 inches.
The battery of this model would also go from the current 1960 mAh to the 2900 mAh, which would allow it to have a longer duration, although everything will depend on what increases the screen size and if Apple also rises its resolution. The increase in capacity would be achieved by lowering the size of the motherboard, with a new method of manufacturing the same, and the surplus space would be used to include more battery, as shown below.
